Continuing in the same trajectory from the end of 2019, we saw a move away from classical symmetry towards a much more organic approach to placement of piercings and jewellery choices.  Asymmetry is going to ramp up even further into 2020 and will be used to create exciting new looks, especially with ear piercings. 

Unlike some traditional piercings which are aligned with symmetry (think nose piercing or eyebrows), ear piercings have always been the main domain of symmetry but now we see trends towards different jewellery worn in opposing ears, resulting in two distinct looks - one for each side of the face.

We recommend you do not try to plan out too much and keep the jewellery choice organic and fun, picking out whatever takes your fancy for each particular piercing without too much thought to the overall look!  You do not have to go straight into having hugely varying jewellery choices, maybe even start off with a simple different colour choice in one piercing as opposed to the other.  Use your existing piercings and just change them around or even wearing a retainer in one of your piercings to freshen up the look!
